Dennis Miracles Aboagye is the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Communications after going unopposed in the party’s national executive elections.

He was confirmed at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, and takes over from Richard Ahiagbah.

Aboagye has a long history within the NPP, having started at the polling station level before becoming Constituency Youth Organiser for the Akropong Constituency.

He later served as the party’s campaign manager in the constituency for the 2008, 2012 and 2016 general elections.

He also served as Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North and held several roles within the Akufo-Addo administration, including presidential staffer and Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation.

At the national level, Aboagye became a spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the NPP’s 2023 presidential primaries and later served on Bawumia’s communications team during the 2024 presidential campaign.

His return to the party’s national communications structure comes as the NPP reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections following its defeat in the 2024 polls.

As Director of Communications, Aboagye will be responsible for helping shape and communicate the party’s message as it prepares for the next general election.
