The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly frozen 17 properties linked to New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Dennis Miracles Aboagye, who is being investigated over the alleged misappropriation of about GH¢55 million.
The latest figure was disclosed by United Party (UP) Director of Communications Solomon Owusu, who claimed the number of properties seized from the former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD) had increased from four to 17.
“What I’m understanding now is the astonishing worth of the guy. Initially, they said they had seized four of his properties. I can tell you that now it is about 17. Quote me anywhere,” he said in an interview on Accra FM on September 28, 2026.
“They shouldn’t annoy me in this country. I swear by my late father, Kwame Sarkodie; the properties have increased to 17… Quote me anywhere, the buildings seized have increased to 17,” he added.
Owusu questioned how Aboagye acquired the properties now reportedly under EOCO’s freeze.
EOCO had earlier secured a High Court order covering five of Aboagye’s bank accounts, a seven-bedroom house at Larteh in the Eastern Region, a two-bedroom property at Spintex in Accra, a residential apartment complex at Adjiringanor and 15 acres of land at Larteh.
The development comes amid EOCO’s ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities at IMCCoD during Aboagye’s tenure as Executive Secretary.
EOCO has said Aboagye was arrested after investigators uncovered new findings linked to suspected fraud and theft in the alleged GH¢55 million case.
Aboagye has denied the allegations, saying he was only questioned about GH¢5 million.
The IMCCoD Secretariat has also alleged that Aboagye sought the removal of sections of a forensic audit report, including findings concerning a bank account with transactions amounting to GH¢102,256,802.69.
