Alhaji Masawudu Osman, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, says he expected to lose the NPP’s national executive election because he believed his political opponents were working against him.

The former NPP Third Vice Chairman said he warned his two wives before the election to prepare for a possible defeat, particularly because he believed his opponents were praying for him to lose.

“I told all my wives that we could lose the election. I told my second wife, Queen Mina, that we could lose because we have so many enemies, and the enemies are praying hard for us to lose the election.

“But Queen Mina, be strong, be woman of substance because the man you’re married to is a strong man, and I am a pure Dagomba man,” he said in an interview on Neat FM on October 5, 2026.

Buga Buga said a message from Queen Mina after the election helped calm him following the defeat.

“After the election, Queen Mina sent me a message, and that calmed me down. So, myself, my first wife and my second wife have no problem.”

He secured 890 votes, falling short of the votes needed to win one of the three vice-chairmanship positions.

Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, emerged as First Vice Chairman after defeating 12 other candidates.
