Australian model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray, who was previously romantically linked to pop star Justin Bieber, has died at the age of 34.

Ray’s family confirmed her death on Monday, October 19, saying she passed away at a hospital surrounded by loved ones.

“She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved,” the family told celebrity news outlet TMZ. Her cause of death has not been disclosed.

Ray gained public attention through her modelling career, social media presence and swimwear brand, Sahara Ray Swim. She became a subject of international headlines in 2016 after being photographed vacationing with Bieber in Hawaii. She was also previously linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson.

Beyond her public profile, Ray had recently entered motherhood. She welcomed her daughter, Snow, in January 2026 and shared moments from their life together with her followers.

In one of her final Instagram posts, published in July, she shared photographs of her daughter with the caption, “My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow.”

Her death comes after she spoke publicly about a serious health struggle in 2024. Ray revealed that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological condition in which the immune system attacks the peripheral nerves.

She said the condition developed after a car accident and left her partially paralysed, affecting her ability to walk. At the time, she shared updates about her recovery and expressed hope that her mobility would improve.

Tributes began emerging from friends and fellow personalities following news of her death.

Ray is remembered for her work in fashion and swimwear, her online following and the personal journey she shared with fans. Further details surrounding her death have not yet been made public.
