NPP First Vice Chairman-elect Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo “Bamba,” has explained his absence from the party’s first meeting following the election of its new leadership.
In a video shared on social media on October 7, 2026, Kojo Bamba said he had other engagements that required his attention and had sought permission from the party’s leadership to miss the meeting.
He said he was aware of the meeting with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia but was excused after informing the party leadership of his other commitment.
“I had other engagements; that was why I couldn’t attend the meeting. I was aware of the meeting because I was informed.
“I asked for permission from the leadership, and I was permitted. So there is no bad blood between the leadership and me,” he said.
Kojo Bamba also dismissed speculation that he had fallen out with Second Vice Chairman-elect Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B.
He said the two had worked closely for about a decade without any disagreements and only went their separate ways temporarily during the campaign for the party’s national executive elections.
“Some of you are also saying that I have an issue with Nana B. I want you people to know that I don’t have any issue with Nana B. In fact, I have worked with him for about 10 years now, and we haven’t once argued.
“Before the delegate conference, we went our separate ways because we were all focused on campaigning, but after the conference, I called him and Nana Akomea... So there is no problem between us,” he added.
He further rejected reports that the party’s new executives wanted him to give up the First Vice Chairman position in favour of Nana B or Nana Akomea.
Kojo Bamba urged party members to reject rumours and focus on unity ahead of the 2028 elections.
“Our greatest weapon for 2028 is UNITY. Let us stay united, strengthen our party, and put an end to the spread of false information and rumours. Our focus must be on building one united, strong, and organized force, ready to face the 2028 elections together. Long live the NPP!”
