American actor RJ Mitte, best known for portraying Walter White Jr. in the acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34.

Mitte’s death was reported on October 12, 2026. According to reports by Deadline and other entertainment outlets, he died in Brownsville, Texas. The cause of death had not been officially disclosed in the initial reports.

The actor rose to international prominence through his role as Walter White’s son in Breaking Bad, which aired from 2008 to 2013. He appeared throughout the show’s five-season run alongside Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

His performance was particularly significant because, like the character he portrayed, Mitte has cerebral palsy. He began experiencing the condition during childhood and used his platform to promote greater understanding, inclusion and representation of people living with disabilities.

Beyond Breaking Bad, Mitte built a career spanning television and film, with appearances in productions including Switched at Birth, The Guardians of Justice and Now Apocalypse.

He was also actively involved in disability advocacy, working with organisations including United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s. His work extended beyond entertainment, as he sought to challenge stereotypes and encourage more authentic representation of people with disabilities on screen.
