Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has expressed confidence that Ghana’s youth will give the New Patriotic Party (NPP) another opportunity in the 2028 general elections.

In a video shared on X, Afenyo-Markin was addressing an audience at an event when he made the remark, saying his confidence was informed by what he had observed.

“The things that I have seen, I believe that the youth of the country will give us a chance in 2028,” he said.

His comments appeared to draw a strong reaction from the audience, with some attendees interrupting his address.

Afenyo-Markin subsequently clarified that he was not simply asking voters to support the NPP, but was urging Ghanaians to give the country’s democratic process and political actors another opportunity in 2028.

“When I say you'll give us a chance, I'm referring to democracy. Listen, I believe that the people of Ghana will give us a chance in 2028,” he explained.

“Give the political actors a chance. I'm referring to our democracy. Give democracy a chance in 2028,” he added.
