American soap opera actor, Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for portraying Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 62.
Kelker-Kelly died on October 3 in St. Peters, Missouri, according to authorities. Police were called to his home after he became unresponsive, with reports indicating that he had complained of chest pain before the medical emergency. His cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
The actor began his television career in 1987 with Another World, where he played Sam Fowler. He later returned to the soap in another role and appeared in more than 400 episodes across his two periods on the programme.
Kelker-Kelly gained wider recognition in 1992 when he took over the role of Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, succeeding Peter Reckell. He remained on the series until 1995 and starred alongside Kristian Alfonso and Lisa Rinna.
His performance earned him the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994. The following year, he and Rinna were named Hottest Soap Couple for their on-screen pairing.
Kelker-Kelly later joined General Hospital, where he played Stavros Cassadine, a role he also reprised on its spinoff Port Charles. His final television appearance came in 2014.
Away from acting, he pursued a career as a professional pilot and largely stepped away from Hollywood.
His death comes months after Rinna made claims about their difficult relationship while working together on Days of Our Lives in her memoir. Kelker-Kelly did not publicly respond to those allegations.
