The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released a comprehensive update regarding the disbursement of promotion-related salary adjustments and arrears. According to an official statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, a total of 56,003 teachers have successfully had their salary adjustments and arrears processed and effected.

Breakdown of Teacher Payments

The nationwide payment rollout reflects ongoing efforts by educational stakeholders and financial institutions to ensure educators are duly compensated for their career advancements.

49,725 teachers were paid on October 15, 2026, together with arrears dating back from January 1, 2026.

6,278 teachers were successfully paid in September 2026.

Status of Outstanding Cases and CAGD Portal

For teachers whose cases are still pending, management has reassured that all outstanding cases have been fully processed and are currently awaiting the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to open the portal for validation and payment.

The CAGD closed down its system on 7th October for processing supplementary payments and October salaries, and the process will be completed as soon as the portal reopens.

Appreciation to Stakeholders

Management extended its gratitude to all key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, Teacher Unions, and the CAGD, for their unwavering support.
