David Selassie Anthony, popularly known as “De Accra Mayor” or “Dee Mayor,” has announced his intention to contest for Deputy National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pledging to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and improve coordination within the party.
His campaign agenda centres on building stronger links between constituency, regional and national executives, increasing member participation and preparing the party for the 2028 general elections.
Selassie Anthony believes effective grassroots organisation will be important to the NDC’s electoral preparations. He wants local organisers to have a greater role in mobilisation and party decision-making, with more attention given to the concerns of members at the constituency and regional levels.
His proposed approach also seeks to improve cooperation across the party’s structures and create more opportunities for grassroots members to contribute to party activities and national development.
The campaign comes as political parties begin preparing their structures and leadership for the next general elections, with internal coordination and sustained engagement with supporters expected to remain key areas of focus.
If elected, Selassie Anthony would be expected to turn his proposals into practical measures, including support for local organisers, resource mobilisation and stronger participation among party members.
Further details of his campaign are expected to outline the specific steps he intends to take to achieve these objectives as he seeks the Deputy National Organiser position.
