Mathias Alagbo Kabila, a former Volta Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced his bid for Deputy National Organizer.

Kabila said his decision followed months of reflection and consultations with party elders, executives, organisers and grassroots members.

“This decision is not born out of personal ambition. It is born out of conviction, experience, and an unwavering belief that our Organizational Wing must continue to evolve to meet the demands of a modern, dynamic, and election-winning political party,” he said.

Kabila began his political journey as a Branch Youth Organizer and later served as TEIN Public Relations Officer at the University of Ghana.

He served as Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer, two-term Volta Regional Youth Organizer, and a member of the Regional and National Executive Committees.

If elected, Kabila said he would focus on strengthening party structures, improving training and leadership development, and establishing a coordinated grassroots mobilisation network ahead of the 2028 elections.

“In a nutshell, I will lead a crusade to rebirth meritocracy and welfare for the grassroots, a catalyst to reinvigorate the base of the NDC,” he stated.

Kabila said the NDC must remain active beyond election periods and stay connected to its members and communities.

“Our task is not simply to win elections. Our task is to build an organization that remains active beyond elections, responsive to the needs of our members, connected to our communities, and prepared for every political challenge,” he said.

He called for professionalism, innovation, discipline, and sustained grassroots engagement, and asked party members for their support and partnership.

“Together, let us organize with purpose, mobilize with discipline and win with confidence,” he said.
