The Adenta Circuit Court has granted Salomey Awiti Baffoe bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 in the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok case.
The bail, granted on Monday, October 5, 2026, comes with two sureties who must be civil servants. She is also required to report to the Hansua Techiman Police Station every two weeks.
Speaking to the media after the proceedings on Monday, her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, said processes to secure the bail had already begun.
“She has finally been granted bail by the court. She was granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, and the sureties should be civil servants who earn no less than GH¢3,000.
“The processes leading to the consummation of the bail have been triggered. We hope to finalise it, and then she can be totally free to reunite with her children and family in Hansua Techiman,” he said.
Baffoe, a 40-year-old mother of three and senior nursing officer, had been in police custody for about three weeks following her arrest on September 13, 2026.
She was arrested over allegations that she operates the TikTok account Ghana Jollof, which has been critical of government officials.
She has been charged with abetting the publication of false news in connection with content posted on the account.
